From June 12-15, Katowice, Poland hosted the 11th edition of the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF2024), one of the most influential international conferences driving scientific and societal transformation. This year, the event attracted 3,500 participants, including scientists, entrepreneurs, politicians, journalists, and community members, all coming together to discuss the latest scientific achievements and their impact on society.
OHPERA was thrilled to accompany ANEMEL at ESOF2024, contributing to the vibrant discussions on green hydrogen and presenting the portfolio to a broad audience. Our session focused on “a trip around Europe”, showcasing the different challenges in hydrogen production and utilisation across the continent.
ANEMEL highlighted the potential of water electrolysis in windy Ireland for green hydrogen production. This innovative approach leverages Ireland’s abundant wind resources to generate sustainable hydrogen, showcasing a promising avenue for renewable energy.
Samiksha Mukesh from OHPERA delivered an impressive presentation on the applications and implementation of photoelectrolysis technology in Spain. Her insights highlighted how this cutting-edge technology can advance Spain’s green hydrogen capabilities, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
The session concluded with valuable contributions from EIC Programme Managers Marco Pantaleo and Francesco Mateucci. They emphasised the crucial role of policy advancements, EU support, and HorizonEU funding in making these technologies viable. The engaging discussion sparked numerous questions from the audience, reflecting the high level of interest and enthusiasm for green hydrogen.
